Mi Carnal Restaurant

Straight and to the point, Mi Carnal brings the goods- hearty tacos in various styles for an affordable price. You have special to-go boxes, including staple taco arrangements, taco salads, and about seven main vegetarian taco options. Many love the “Biggest Burrito,” a chockful bean and avocado burrito with protein of choice. It’s huge, filling, and the best of its kind. 

Between enchiladas and tamales, you have all the major Mexican food staples you need. It is located at 2471 US Hwy 1 S. You can find Mi Carnal open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Cantina Louie

Cantina Louie brings out the fun. Shrimp fajitas, the Burrito Supreme, Avocado Enchilada, and the Sunny-Side specialty tacos only scratch the surface of its expansive multi-page menu.

Full entrees include Pollo Relleno marinated grilled chicken, La Parrilla charbroiled skirt steak, and Chile Rellenos Poblano peppers stuffed with cheese. Top it off with sangria, a pomegranate mule, or a classic house Margarita.

It’s all located at 1900 U.S. Highway 1. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with extended hours to 10 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday.

Casa Maya Restaurant

For a downtown Mexican restaurant, St. Augustine, you can’t get much better than Casa Maya. It features an open deck space, a full bar, and music most evenings. It’s in the heart of downtown St. Augustine, so you’ll find plenty of fun right in the area. It also has its parking lot, though validation is required. 

Menu items include Huevos Rancheros made with organic eggs, Mexican Cuernito omelet, and Chilaquiles, all for breakfast. Dinner includes full entrees like Mahi Tacos, Carne Asada, Ropa Vieja shredded beef brisket, and a top-quality vegetarian entree- the massive Green Burrito, with organic black beans, cheese sautéed veggies, and avocado.

It is at 22 Hypolita St. It’s open daily from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with extended hours from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday. Breakfast is only served Friday and Saturday. 

Osprey Tacos

Osprey Tacos is probably the best Mexican restaurant in St Augustine Beach. Using many organic ingredients and always offering a rotating vegetarian and vegan taco special, Osprey Tacos is extremely welcoming to multiple dietary needs. It’s been open just a few years in St. Augustine but has proven itself a standard taco spot by the beach.

Osprey Tacos is at 300 Anastasia Boulevard. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (9 p.m. Friday and Saturday). Ironically, it is closed Tuesday.

La Cocina Mexican Restaurant

La Cocina offers genuine Mexican in St Augustine. Since 2005, it has merged local love with authentic Mexican food, featuring art from local artists and plating long-standing family recipes. We recommend taking an extra few minutes to look over the incredible drink menu. It features La Suegra Tit’s vodka and cranberry juice and a classic Moscow Mule.

Mojos Tacos is a beachside favorite, a beloved local joint with a unique twist to the most quintessential Mexican food. All tacos are served double-decker, meaning both a soft shell and hard shell cooked together. It’s a must-try taco, especially combined with the mojo sauce.
