Book your favorite of the available beach rentals St. Augustine FL has to offer and come see the ancient city. Even though the situation is challenging for many people in early 2021, there are still many leading businesses doing great things to keep attractions and activities safe for the public.
We provide you a snapshot of St. Augustine now, including what is open, what you can’t miss, and how to get the most of the experience while staying safe and responsible.
Attractions
While some St. Augustine attractions are closed, others are operating with reasonable restrictions. The top three are:
Castillo de San Marcos: This iconic fort has recently reopened, and is welcoming people along the city’s waterfront. While the fort is limited total attendance to 100 at a time, all rooms are open and available. Unfortunately, live demonstrations are suspended at this time. We recommend ordering your tickets ahead of time through the website.
The mostly-outdoor Colonial Quarter is open to walking downtown guests. The quarter and attached museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Lightner Museum is continuing to celebrate gorgeous and inventive art throughout history. The upcoming showcase, American Impressionism: Treasures from the Daywood Collection, brings together at least 41 sensational impressionistic masterpieces. It is from April 8th to July 5th 2021. Masks are currently required for entrance. You can dine in the café or there are also numerous benches and the garden seating area just outside the museum for you to take a rest at if you prefer to dine outside.
While St. Augustine is filled with attractions, these are currently the best spots to see in this current climate.
Restaurants With Outdoor Seating
Outdoor seating is invaluable at this time. Fortunately, Florida weather is gorgeous year-round, making outdoor seating more accessible and more common. We rounded out some of our favorite restaurants in St. Augustine, FL offering outdoor seating. Find the dining locations closest to your favorite St. Augustine beachfront rentals.
The high-quality and authentic Italian restaurant, Casa Benedetto’s, gathers Sicilian cuisine with inventive southern fare, resulting in a sensational combination. You’ll find homemade lasagna, fried calamari, eggplant, clams, and more at 197 Blackford Way. The patio is small, so consider calling ahead to confirm seat availability.
Sunset Grille is an area staple, capturing some of the best aspects of Florida dining- big plates of seafood and an even bigger outdoor seating area. This beachside late-night restaurant also has splendid views of surrounding Anastasia Island.
While there are more restaurants with outdoor seating, these stand as some of our current favorites for the season. Be sure to respect physical distancing and be safe.

Bars & Nightlife
Just because the era has forced many late-night St. Augustine bars to change things up, it doesn’t mean they all closed up for the season. Two particular favorites’ nightlife bars remain open.
The Tini Martini is located at the historic (and beautiful) Casablanca Inn. It sits right on the harbor. Enjoy sensational water views while sipping on specialty martinis, like a Cosmopolitan, Manhattan, Rockin Tini Martini, or the Whitehaven, among over 100 others.
The Ice Plant has style to spare. Housed in a genuine former ice plant with industrial pipes and 100-year-old restored architecture, this phenomenal bar is a sight to behold- and we aren’t just talking about the building! The bar offers original specialty cocktails with homemade ice. It’s open to 2 a.m. on Saturday.
