What is the Garden Club Home Tour?
Every year, the St. Augustine Garden Club hosts a special holiday-inspired tour of homes during the early days of December. The club is hosting the 50th Anniversary for 2019, and they have hit a huge milestone. To mark the occasion, this year is expected to be the best year yet!
What Can You Expect?
The garden tour is elegant and simple at heart. You will take a guided walking tour along some of the most sensational and quiet little side streets of St. Augustine’s historic district. Here, you will see epic gardens crafted and cultivated by many members of the St. Augustine garden club. You may also see and speak with garden designers, learning a bit about what they do to preserve their garden space. Learn about garden layout, creating a flower display, and even how to use fountains.
The tour incorporates practical tips, sightseeing, and good conversations with local garden masters. You can also learn about how to get involved with the St. Augustine Garden Club.
What is Transportation Like?
You can easily use one of St. Augustine’s two main trolley rides to get to the tour. The two options are the red train and St. Augustine Old Town Trolley.
While this is a walking tour, there are special accommodations available. Guests who have difficulty walking can utilize the on-site trolley from Old Town Trolleys. It will run in conjunction with the walking tour to some degree and will be an accessible option for anyone who is uninterested or unable to walk the majority of the tour distance. In total, it is only expected to be a few blocks, but it can add up!
We recommend you take a rideshare from our St. Augustine beachfront rentals to the tour area. This will allow you to get in and out conveniently without the worry of parking. You can also rent a vehicle as needed. While many of the trolleys do not go all the way into Anastasia Island, some do! We recommend the Old Town Trolley for St. Augustine Beach. When Is it?
The event is going to be on December 8th. It runs from noon to 5 p.m. You can begin a bit later, but you may miss some key homes on the tour.
