Lightner Museum in St. Augustine

The Lightner Museum is home to an expansive collection of 19th-century artwork and antiques. Here you can see oil paintings, antique instruments, stained glass, Victorian artifacts, and many other interesting exhibits. In addition to being on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum reflects the rich history and luxurious lifestyle of the Gilded Age.

The museum is located in the historic Alcazar Hotel that was once world-renowned for its state of the art amenities. Built-in 1887, the hotel was designed in a strikingly beautiful Spanish architectural style that is impressive both inside and out. The hotel was closed in the 1930s and subsequently became the home of the now-beloved Lightner Museum.

During your visit, you can tour the exhibits, explore the beautiful grounds, and learn more about the fascinating history behind both the building and the artifacts. The Lightner Museum is located near many of our vacation rentals at 75 King St, St Augustine, FL 32084.
