Restaurants Open On Thanksgiving Day in St. Augustine

Thanksgiving- the biggest eating day of the year. Stuff yourself full with big plates of Thanksgiving delights from the below four major restaurants, all offering a little slice of the ancient city. All these restaurants are located on Anatasia Island, outside of downtown, and are within a short drive of most of our rentals. 

Conch House Restaurant

If you love seafood and you love the Caribbean, you are going to fall in love with the Conch House Restaurant on your St. Augustine vacation.

The Conch House is not your fancy seafood restaurant on the water. It’s accessible, low-key, affordable, and friendly. Review the menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner before you visit. The restaurant currently does not accept reservations, so be sure to arrive before the meal rush to get a timely seat.

Once sitting, you can indulge in a variety of seafood selections. Lunch includes an extensive list of sandwiches, including the Conch House Cuban, Smoke Turkey, and the Minorcan. There’s also fresh catch available by way of taco, sandwich, or straight. 

Dinner unveils new surprises, such as the Crab Cake Dinner or Snow Crab Legs. As of now, all of these items will be available on Thanksgiving Day. Call ahead for verification. 

Gypsy Cab Co Restaurant

Gypsy Cab is a delightful little restaurant on Anastasia Island near the local minigolf course and right past the famous bridge of Lions. Gypsy Cab has a unique urban aesthetic, with its charming interior and bright purple colored exterior. Gypsy Cab specializes in a mostly organic menu, with an array of vegan and vegetarian selections. It is famous for its Salmon & Scallop Provencale and its massive (seriously) salad selections, with arrangements for tofu, blackened shrimp, fish, and more.

Complete your holiday dinner with one of the acclaimed desserts, rotated out periodically for the season. These may include Tiramisu, Coconut Cream Pie Blueberry Crumb Pie, Key Lime Pie, and the Chocolate Mousse Hazelnut Icebox Cake.

Island Beach Shop & Grill

Island Beach is cool, simple, and super casual, a nice welcoming change of pace for the holiday.

Despite the simplicity, Island beach keeps it quite sophisticated. Ingredients are fresh and often local. Specialties include the Southern Bistro Burger, coated with pimento cheese, bacon jam, fried green tomato, and Tabasco onions. There’s also the awesome Pork belly sandwich, with kimchi slaw and covered with a whole grain mustard glaze.

Island Beach has a connected shop with quality beach gear and souvenirs. While it may not look like a lot, this little café by the water is a delight for your Thanksgiving meal. 

Mojo’s Tacos

Mojo’s Tacos is a single-floor shack filled to the brim with taco treats. Order a la carte or choose from a selection of curated favorites, Mojo’s tacos delivers some of the best tacos in the city. It is an ideal place to keep things simple for the holiday.

Mojo’s divides its menu up into tacos, burritos, salads, and arepas (corn cakes with melted cheese). Some of the taco and burrito selections include avocado, chicken, beef, fish (usually Mahi) and tempeh. Most of the same ingredients apply for the salads and arepas. There are also drinks available from a cooler to wash down your plate full of tacos. Most guests order a set of three.
